Simple Handmade Gifts - Part Three (1)

Here it is….after a long absence…(ok…only 3 days…but it SEEMS longer!) the“Simple Handmade Gifts”series continues.(Hopefully these aren’t getting annoying because I am loving putting them together!)So let’s get started shall we???

Fabric-Wrapped Hangers bycorrieberry pie

What I Like:This could take awhile! I found this project at ? quite awhile ago and while I haven’t actually made any yet…I am definitely going to do so. For GIFTS…and for MYSELF!
What a great way to disguise those homely white plastic hangers that adorn all our closets nowadays. At least they are a step up from the wire hangers. NO WIRE HANGERS! Five bucks if you can tell me what movie that is from? ;-)
On top of being pretty and useful….these look really fun to make! :-) Love this sort of stuff.

What I like: Every time I look at this picture I smile. I love what a CLEVER IDEA it is….and I just plain LOVE snow globes! Only problem I anticipate here would be not wanting to “break” my present….to get to my PRESENT. :-) It’s a good problem to have!

Fabric Coasters byMaaria Made With Love

What I Like: The attention to detail! Love the cute hand-stitching around the edge, and the tiny little ribbon loop in the corner. These just look like the perfect spotto set your cup of coffee or hot chocolate on a chilly winter day.

Simple Handmade Gifts - Part Three (5)

I found some more cute fabric coasters on Flickr.com…and couldn’t resist posting them as well. These are a little more detailed with the extra stitching…but still a very quick and easy gift idea.Unfortunately, neither websites had “instructions” on them. But I’m sure if you put on your “crafters cap” you can figure it out in no time!

What I like:Laundry soap? As a GIFT? Jillee…have you lost your mind? haha! Oh I lost that years ago. :-) But bear with me here.Since I started making my own laundry soap exclusively about 6 months ago…I’m always anxious to share the idea with friends and family. However, most of the time my confessions of love for this product are usually met with a glassy-eyed stare because they just haven’t caught the vision…..yet!
So….I thought if I made up a batch and presented a sampling of it to them in a cute mason jar with a cute tag, etc….they might be more inclined to give it a try and become as enamored as I am. :-)
Sneaky huh? Oh yeah.

Coaster Post-it Note Holders byTeacher In Wonderland

What I Like: I can sum up what I like about this in one, two-syllable word…..S I M P L E. But simple in a very attractive and charming way. :-)

At first glance this gift has teacher written all over it. (Not literally of course.) But upon further consideration…I can see just about ANYONE finding these useful and fun. I know *I* would love to have about a dozen of these around the house and office. The binder clip makes them perfect for hanging on bulletin boards or any vertical surface you can think of, and slap a couple magnets on the bag and these would be perfect for jotting down grocery lists, etc. Wow…I sure had a lot to write about such a little gift. What can I say….good things come in small packages.

Homemade Herb and Spice Fire Starters byGarden Betty

What I Like: So many wonderful things to LIKE about this idea!
1: Perfect for this time of year when fireplaces are seeing a lot of action.
2. Eco-friendly! Unlike composite firelogs and lighter fluid, NO CHEMICALS required to ignite the flame.
3. Lovely presentation/packaging.
And last…but certainly not least….
4. Oh-so-fragrant! Love the smell of rosemary, sage and lavender!

And that concludes installment #3 of Simple Handmade Gifts. How long can I keep this up? I’m thinking INDEFINITELY! Or at least a couple more times before Santa comes to town. :-) I LOVE finding and sharing this stuff! Hope you find something you can use!
